چکیده
The emergence of the Internet Things (IoT) has enabled billions devices that collect large amounts data to be connected. Therefore, IoT security fundamental requirements. One critical aspect is integrity. Cryptographic hash functions are cryptographic primitives provide integrity services. However, due limitations devices, existing not suitable for all environments. As a result, researchers have proposed various lightweight function algorithms. In this paper, we discuss advanced highly constrained categorize design trends, analyze aspects and cryptanalytic attacks, present comparative analysis different hardware software implementations. final section highlight research challenges suggest future topics related functions.

Cryptographic Hash Functions: Recent Design Trends and Security Notions
Recent years have witnessed an exceptional research interest in cryptographic hash functions, especially after the popular attacks against MD5 and SHA-1 in 2005. In 2007, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has also significantly boosted this interest by announcing a public competition to select the next hash function standard, to be named SHA-3. Not surprisingly, the...
متن کاملBad Directions in Cryptographic Hash Functions
A 25-gigabyte “point obfuscation” challenge “using security parameter 60” was announced at the Crypto 2014 rump session; “point obfuscation” is another name for password hashing. This paper shows that the particular matrix-multiplication hash function used in the challenge is much less secure than previous password-hashing functions are believed to be. This paper’s attack algorithm broke the ch...
متن کاملCryptographic Hash Functions: Cryptanalysis, Design and Applications
Cryptographic hash functions are an important tool in cryptography to achieve certain security goals such as authenticity, digital signatures, digital time stamping, and entity authentication. They are also strongly related to other important cryptographic tools such as block ciphers and pseudorandom functions. The standard and widely used hash functions such as MD5 and SHA-1 follow the design ...
متن کاملAnalysis and Design of Cryptographic Hash Functions
The subject of this thesis is the study of cryptographic hash functions. The importance of hash functions for protecting the authenticity of information is demonstrated. Applications include integrity protection, conventional message authentication and digital signatures. Theoretical results on cryptographic hash functions are reviewed. The information theoretic approach to authentication is de...
متن کاملDynamic Cryptographic Hash Functions
Speirs II, William Robert Ph.D., Purdue University, May, 2007. Dynamic Cryptographic Hash Functions. Major Professor: Samuel S. Wagstaff, Jr. This dissertation introduces a new type of cryptographic hash function, the dynamic cryptographic hash function. Dynamic cryptographic hash functions differ from traditional hash functions because they require a second parameter, the security parameter. T...
